$ 1000 Annual Scholarship For Current and Incoming Students

Students are the Future

Attorney Stewart J. Guss appreciates the value of education as well and the ever increasing costs of obtaining one. This yearly scholarship of $ 1000 is designed to alleviate some of the financial pressure on promising students wishing to further their education at the college and university level. To qualify for the Guss Scholarship you must be an aspiring or current college student and must participate in our essay competition on the legal topic outlined below.

The Video Essay

The application process requires applicants to present a 1-2 minute video on the chosen topic below. The topic for the 2017 scholarship is: How can we reduce traffic fatalities in the USA? This topic gives applicants a wide range of scope, subject, and direction and we hope to see lots of opinion, reasoning, and passion! ** Please note that videos will be made public. If you are not comfortable with your video being made public, please do not apply. Thank you.**

Application Process

  • After you have uploaded your video, please submit the URL to: [email protected]
  • In the email, applicants must include: Full name, date of birth, home address, email address, contact phone numbers, current school attended and (intended) course of study.
  • After the application period has closed, we will review all submissions and decide on a winner by April 1st, 2017
  • . We will notify the winner by telephone or email and make a public announcement on Stewart's Facebook page.

You're essays were absolutely fantastic and we know you will all have extremely successful college experiences and very bright futures ahead of you.

2015 Winner

The essay topic for last year's scholarship was, "What Law Would You Change, and Why?" The winner of last year's Stewart J. Guss Scholarship is Ms. Yakun (Marianne) Xu. We had the pleasure of reviewing many amazing and thoughtful essays and regret that we could chose only one winner!
